General Info
The Traffic Engineering division is governed by the Public Works department, which is managed by Orange County Government in Florida. The division plans, installs, constructs and maintains traffic control devices, as well as manages a full-service sign fabrication shop. It offers installation solutions for more than 9,000 traffic signs annually. The Traffic Engineering division also operates over 550 traffic signals and nearly 60 flashing warning beacons. The division reviews projects involving transportation modeling, school assessment, speed humps, and area-wide transportation and alternative road impact fee studies. In addition, it operates a traffic management center that manages traffic during special events. The Traffic Engineering division handles projects for arrows, legends, stop bars and crosswalks.
