- DemolitionTo remediate hexavalent chromium-impacted soil and groundwater at multiple manufacturing/ industrial sites, CAPE performed environmental remediation and civil construction repairs and improvements. Work included landfill closure, stormwater controls, and water treatment. We repaired and upgraded a landfill cap to remove public exposure pathways and to prepare the site for future use. CAPE also completed shoreline repairs, slope stabilization and erosion controls; dewatering and groundwater treatment system (GWTS) upgrades; stormwater management controls demolition, repairs and upgrades; and landfill capping.
- ExcavationCAPE performed a large-scale site remediation and grading project on a 15-acre property for a power/ utility client. The purpose of the project was to remove historic contamination and soils unsuitable for building upon, and to regrade the site for future construction of a new substation. The site was adjacent to a large residential community, and stringent dust controls were required to be maintained 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. CAPE performed contaminated soil excavation, hazardous waste removal, transportation & disposal (T&D), stormwater management, and site grading and restoration. We installed extensive erosion and sediment controls and protected elderberry bushes to avoid harming an endangered beetle.
- Irrigation SystemsProject 2 included Time Critical Removal Action (TCRA) at a 5.5 acre vacant site where municipal and industrial wastes were buried and creating elevated levels of site contaminants. Our team at CAPE designed a program to dispose of 5,700 cubic yards of contaminated soil and debris through the installation of stormwater erosion controls and a temporary irrigation system for revegetation and hydroseeding of native plant species.
