Not What it Once Was.

Opening to a new location, we thought it would be the same good service we once had when they were at the old location, not even close: customer service has severely suffered. Employees are there to collect a check, which is evident by them collectively complaining about customers and how long they have to be there.

Walking in the host was on the phone, threw his index finger up and said "wait one" and walked off. Opposite of what we experienced in the past, had I been alone; would have left. The grills and tables are same size but they try to pack in more people with additional place settings. If you ask for a bottled beer, you now have to ask for a glass with it and what you get is a dishwasher warm glass. We, meaning everyone at the table had to ask for refills on water and instead of when they use to just bring you a fresh new glass, they take your old one and refill it, no fresh lemon.

We were brought soup without ordering, so double salad and no soup/ vice versa doesn't exist anymore. Our server on the grill was new, and it showed. The quality of food is still there, before its cooked. As for our fried rice, tasted more like warmed rice with soy sauce; he didn't give it time to crust or even cook. I ordered the fillet medium-rare which with his uneven ,turned out medium to medium well; ruined a good piece of meat that I now had to pay for. Don't expect the same quantity you received of food from the old location, two to go boxes are now easily one.

The bill process was an event in itself. The waiter who wasn't at the old location, brought the bill, and literally grabbed up it up before I have a chance to view what I was paying for. After he brought me the check to sign, I asked for my bill to see what I was paying for he was perplexed with an attitude to say the least. After mentioning, "I would like to see what all I'm charged for", he informed me the bill was closed out and they can't print that off. About to ask for a manager, I saw one get involved who took care of the problem; this lasted over 10 minutes.

The beer was cold and the sushi remains superb - No longer a family spot for us; I'll go there for sushi at the bar.

WOW that is all I have to say. This place was the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. The staff was sloooowwwwwww. I almost fell asleep waiting for a refill on my drink as well as for my food to come out. The whole place seemed dirty to me and just cluttered. I cannot imagine what their kitchen looks like.

We love it!! Great for groups of adult friends. A+

My wife and I have always been happy with Sushi Rock. We always take our friends there to eat. The wait is never too long and the service is very good and the food taste GREAT.

Was there 2/9/07, party of 8, 3 of which were children ages 8,10 & 8, only 2 kids ate, one shared, had to pay $6.00 additional for sharing, and my 10 year old ordered an adult meal that was $17.00 and they added 18% gratuity, Of all the Japanese restaurants I've been to, none of them charge for sharing nor do they add on gratuity. Not to mention there menu prices are more. My family and I will not be dining there again.
