It's our mission and goal to provide your beloved pet with the best medicine, surgery and dentistry humanly possible. We are a full service hospital. Our surgical suite is fully equipped with modern anesthesia and monitoring equipment. Diagnostics include x-ray, in house lab and the use of one of the country's largest labs for special testing. We believe strongly that good nutrition and preventive medicine are the keys to optimal health. We put a strong emphasis on client education, and know from experience that an educated client takes better care of their pets. Prevention is the best medicine. We have some of the best diets available for your pets and would be happy to discuss your pets nutritional needs. We also help pet owners with preventing or correcting many behavioral problems. Our staff is knowledgeable and always ready to help. We look forward to serving you. Dr. Thomas A. Fredenhagen (AKA Dr. Fred) was born in St. Augustine and raised in Palatka Fl. He attended St Johns River Jr College and the University of Florida before receiving his DVM degree from Auburn University in 1976. After an internship in Tallahassee he moved to the Jacksonville/Orange park area to continue companion animal practice. He established and ran Argyle Animal Hospital for 10 years. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Florida Veterinary Association and has worked with and been a board member of the Safe Animal Shelter. His wife Karen has 25 years experience in the Veterinary field and is his dedicated partner. They compliment each other with their combined knowledge and experience.
