Founded in 1974, Youth in Need is a multi-services agency that serves children, youths and families. It offers emergency shelters for men and women between the ages of 10 and 18. The agency s transitional living program provides group accommodations for parents with children. It also offers food, clothing, referral and support services for youths who live on streets. Youth in Need operates a drop-in center that offers recreational and educational after-school activities, as well as conflict resolution and anger management services. It also provides nutritional and health information to expectant teenagers through community and in-school counseling. The agency additionally offers professional counseling for children and families. Youth in Need also provides high school dropouts and after-school mentoring programs. It maintains a location in St. Charles, Mo.
