Theo Lacy Facility is a minimum and maximum security correctional home that employs more than 400 staff members. It maintains buildings with fenced compounds containing large outdoor recreational areas. The facility s inmates perform various cleaning, cooking and maintenance works. Founded in 1960, Theo Lacy Facility provides medical, dental and mental health services, as well as meals to inmates. It has various intake, release, classification, records and law library sections. Theo Lacy Facility also offers the Community Work Program and the Phoenix House New Start Program. The facility is administered by the Orange County Sheriff's Department and can accommodate up to 3,000 inmates.
