Chef Manuel was the chef of Mateos in Corona Del Mar/Newport for 24+ years. If you remember Mateos you will feel like you have come home. Excellent dishes, with plenty of extra to take home for a snack. The Seafood Ravioli on special is a must so is the Frutti De Mar. Oh my how tender the veal, all are great. An off the menu hint, the stuffed mushrooms or the roasted peppers with provolone, balsamic vinegarette and anchovies are awesome. Don't be afraid to ask if something you might like is not on the menu, the chef may just whip it up for you. Bob's steak is a speciality... a BIG tender filet with cottage fries (a thick crispy yet chewy chip) and pasta with oil and garlic. Everything from the bread to the flan (Oops, I forgot how yummy the flan is!) are all made in the back. Two thumbs up!

They took a local 'greasy spoon' and turned it into a venue of fine dining and decor.
