General Info
Headquartered in Orange County, CA our all volunteer-run rescue group is locally-based and specializes in rescuing small breed dogs, usually under 15 lbs, placed on the euthanasia lists in the local LA and Inland Empire high-kill shelters. Our experienced team have the credentials and knowledge to identify and rescue small breed dogs that have the best opportunity to be successfully placed in forever homes in the Southern California community. We have been a licensed California and IRS recognized 501(c)3 approved Non-Profit rescue organization since 2008 and are proudly listed on GuideStar.org. We have been in dog rescue in Southern California since 2005, and overall since 1991, with our funds being derived 100% from the adoption donation fees we ask for an OCPoundHound. This is directed 100% back in to continuing our rescue work and the related medical care needed by the dogs we rescue, to allow us to continue our mission. We are an all volunteer run organization that thrive only on donations, of which are a combination of private and foundation donations. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact us so we can arrange for a tax-deductible receipt. To request a Meet & Greet with a potential new member for your Family, please complete the Adoption Application Form which you can find on our web site. All references requested on our application are checked, then an in-person “Meet & Greet†takes place. You must be over the age of 25 to complete an adoption application and contract. Our adoptions are subject to approval, an adoption fee and a home check (either by us or one of our rescue partners). We do not typically place our dogs with anyone who is renting their residence. Our adoption restrictions have been refined over time, and are a result of many years of working within the rescue community.
