I had a rusted damper that i just could not get open. I called The Fireplace Doctor to see if they could replace it. Well they were super nice, and told me they could do as I asked, but the best thing for me was to install a different type of damper. It was so much cheaper i had a hard time believing it was a good product, but after they brought one to show to me, i was more convinced that it would work. My locktop damper is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It seals off my chimney completely when not in use. These guys are great.
