Hooters of America is the operator and franchiser of more than 445 Hooters restaurant locations in 43 of the United States. It also has many international locations, including Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, England, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and Venezuela. The company uses television ads, its own Hooters Magazine and Hooters Girl billboards to advertise its restaurants. Hooters Girls are the cornerstone of the Hooters concept and as part of their job, these all-American cheerleaders make promotional and charitable appearances in their respective communities. The Hooters Community Endowment Fund raises money for various local and national charities, such as the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Established in 1983, Hooters maintains a location in Ontario, Calif.
