I have had my hair braided here multiple times the first time my braids started to fall out the next day. i went back and the braids were tightened up . the next time, the braids were done perfectly. loved them which is why i went back for the third time. This was my first time in the back room and i hated it. the women talked bad about people, the braids were too thick not the micros that i paid for. I was very disappointed with how my hair turned out. So it is a roll of the dice. it is sad. we really should have more shops here in Nebraska. really.

i have mixed reviews...the first time i went here i bought my own hair. they told me that they didnt want to use it and i had to BUY theirs....i thought they were out of their mind!! so i kindly got up and left and waited until my braider returned fro vacationb... 2yrs later i went again out of desperation and they did a beautiful job, the girls were nice professional and clean. it was a great experience. ...i want to try kokos..but after reading those reviews....im dang scared cz im very picky.

I got my hair done today at New Look, however i usually go to KoKo's due to me wanting to try another salon. I was very happy with the final results of my hair sadly i was asked to pay before I could the finish product and trust me no one wants to be ripped off as the person giving the service or receiving it. I will say this I speak and understand french and sadly these women were saying very unchristian things about clients.Breaking point for me was when i paid the hair braider $200 when the service was $180 which gave her $20 for tip me being the fair person that I am I made sure that all 3 ladies that braided my hair each got $20 each. The ladies where complaining each time they finished someones hair how cheap that person was and their apperance very unprofessional if I was not moving to Chicago I would continue going to KoKo's but to eachs on also to add to this post there were several children running around the salon screaming and sadly 2 were the owners.

I have taken my daugther there twice now for Microbraids and they do an excellent job. Maybe if the previous reviewer didn't have such an attitude, they wouldn't have talked about her in any language. The only thing I think is sad is that they have a sign posted that they want to be paid before services will begin....kind of tells me they've been ripped off by their African-American sistas.

I'm a black female, not of this area, and the fact that this is the only well known braiding salon is sad. I scheduled to have micro braids done by a specific stylist but when I arrived, they pawned me off on someone who had no earthly idea what I was saying, much less what I wanted done. I have natural hair & I didn't feel it necessary to straighten it (I don't apply heat to my hair) & they made a big deal about it being "difficult" & tried to charge extra. Keep in mind that they're Africans, so we know they don't have silky tresses (& I'm of mixed nationality...they just wanted extra money). I will say that if you can overlook the rude attitudes of the women who work in the back room and the constant switching back & forth to French (which they didn't know I speak) when they want to talk about you, then this is the place for you. They do an alright job, but nothing spectacular. I have since learned to braid and am comparable to their level of "expertise".
