Food was okay, steak was not cooked medium, but rare instead. Green beans are from a can, definitely. Here's the kicker: I ate there w/ my wife and Grandparents. The elderly waitress proceeded to tell us the place was being sold because "young people eat at Applebee's because they don't care about quality", and that "the Mexicans were probably going to buy the place". Did I mention my wife is Mexican? Unbelievable... I also won't get too much into how many times my elbow was bumped by our waitress without an, "excuse me", but it happened several times.I'll never step foot there again, and if you want a real steakhouse and no unprofessionalism, go to Anthony's or Johnny's, NOT GORATS! I'll be calling Gorats later today... and it won't be good.
Gorat's is the best prime rib anywhere in the country. The service is friendly as well as attentive! Definitely my favorite place to eat in omaha!
landed at Omaha's airport and wanted to come straight over and have lunch. Gorat's is closed between 2pm and 5pm so i called to see if i should pay for a taxi over there since i was going to get there about 5 after 2pm. she said "come on over". so i paid the $30 taxi fare and when i got there she told me i was too late. so i spent my money elsewhere.you stay classy, Gorat's...
Family favorite and great steaks. Even Warren Buffett stops in for a steak here. Good family place and great prices. A must to go to in Omaha.
I have lived, and had Steaks all over the country, Four&five star restaurants in San Fran and New York, Steak houses from Chicago to LA to Philly, chains from OUTsomewhere to RuthSomebody. "Gorats" has the best aged, best prepared, best tasting Beef in the country. I go there every time I get to Omaha.
PS it sounds wierd but try the french fried parsley
I don't care what Buffet says, this is not a five star restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. It is in a long line of leftover restaurants from the 60's that still serve vegetables and pasta out of a can (or at least it taste like it).
--and you can understand why. No stupid gimmicks, only great food, served by the most talented waitpersons anywhere. Get your steaks HERE. Outstanding house salad--I love chunk blue cheese on top.
Why would anyone go to a chain steakhouse in Omaha, NE? Gorat's is perfect in every way. Experienced, professional staff, the best steaks in the Western Hemisphere.
The service was fine and enjoyed the great cuts of meat.
