The Washington Christian Academy is an educational institution that is located in Silver Spring, Md. Established in 1960, the academy is a Christ-centered institution that enrolls students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, history, science and mathematics. The school conducts chapel and Bible education sessions, as well as offers programs in art, music and physical education. The Washington Christian Academy operates a student government association and conducts fundraising activities and community service projects. It has a parent-teacher fellowship that sponsors class parties and school picnics. The academy publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Messenger, which carries updates on school events and programs. In addition, the Washington Christian Academy is a member of the Christian Schools International and the Mid Atlantic Christian School Association.
