Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department is operated by the Oklahoma City and provides various services and recreation programs. The recreation division of the department provides recreation and education programs at parks, athletic fields, lakes, nature areas and community centers. The department has three 18-hole disc golf courses and offers golf playing instruction classes for residents. Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department also has an aquatic center that provides water aerobics and swimming instruction classes. The grounds management division of the department maintains more than 4,000-acres of land and provides tree plantation services. The department has a plant museum that has a collection of tropical plants from around the world. Additionally, the department rents facilities for special events, weddings, parties and other gatherings.
