Fine mall. It has some pricey botique and furniture stores, nail salon, a weird yoga/bike place, cheap shoe store, jewelry store. Nearby outside the mall are a few restaurants, like City Bites that moved outside the mall. The mall is not very crowded at all usually. There's a Santa every winter, that's crowded. The rest of the time it's quite sparse in shoppers which I like. There's also the "dollar" theater (it's $2 now, but $1 on Tuesday nights). I like the theater. It's older, sure, but less crowded.

The commenter below makes me laugh... "risking your life over?" Please. Northpark Mall is statistically very safe, and so is the area. A few property crimes and car break-ins every now and then happen everywhere. That's hardly "risking your life." The person should have called the non-emergency police number after a break-in, not mall security. After car break-ins, about all you can do is report it to police and call your insurance company.

Some cute shops in here but no...

Some cute shops in here but nothing worth risking your life over. Very dangerous part of town. My car was broken into here and the security didn't even know how to check the surveillance cameras. Then they told me to just drive home (with a sheet of glass in my seat) and leave my car in my driveway until I got a hold of my insurance company. Complete idiots. These guys were not physically/mentally able to protect anybody. One was physically handicapped and could hardly walk (God bless him) but not the best career choice for him. I had to demand that they help me clean the glass out of my car so I could get home. Thankful it was only my car that was harmed and not myself unlike some less fortunate victims here. As dangerous as Penn Square has gotten, I feel much safer there than this mall. If you must go here, you better be packing some heat. I won't go near this area without my concealed weapon.
