In spite of their many years in business, customer service is a zero with FA Highley. My builder recommended their product and I agreed to it. A crack developed in my countertop, and even though they eventually replaced it, it took weeks and dozens of phone calls from myself and my builder. When that didn't work, I threatened to call the attorney general's consumer protection staff. Only THEN, did they suddenly find the time to replace the countertop.Crack number two recently appeared. Once again, they promised to call me back on a specific day. But only after I called them, did they agree to come inspect it. They told me crack #2 might not be under warranty, and I said, "OK, tell me what repair will cost." As hinted, this crack was not covered under warranty, and the inspector assured me I would receive a phone call. Of course I didn't! I received a copy of a letter to my builder stating that they were not responsible. No phone call. No estimate to repair. Nothing.
Of the 3 companies we took estimates from, this was the only one that required payment in full in advance. We should have been forwarned by this, but we signed a contract with them for countertop installation because of a referral from someone who dealt with them before Fred Highley sold the business. We are still waiting for the fourth visit over a two week period to finish our countertop installation. The first two visits the installer mis-cut. The third visit he finished the last section, but there was a large gap or shortage where the countertop met the wall. The installer suggested a 26"x4" backsplash to cover up the gap. We agreed. However, the installer did not come back or call when he said he would, and F.A. Highley is not returning our calls either. We paid in full, and now we cannot get them to repair the faulty installation or complete the repair we agreed to.
