Dr. McConnell was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Yukon. She has been in the field of dentistry since 1988, starting during high school and college. She then attended college at Midwestern State University where she graduated first in her class and magna cum laude with her bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. She practiced as a hygienist for 8 years before deciding to return to college and pursue her lifelong goal to become a dentist. She attended dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where she held a variety of leadership roles and excelled not only academically, but also with her patient interaction. While attending dental school, she met her husband, Chris Poore. He is a periodontist at The Oklahoma Center for Implants & Periodontics. They have been married since 2006 and have two beautiful children, Kinley and Kellan.
