Akagi is the real thing! We were dismayed when Murasaki closed down, but overjoyed when we discovered Akagi -- and it's closer to our east side home. Our relatives from Japan agree. Their miso soup is inexpensive and as good as any we've had in Japan. My husband likes the unagi bowl, I prefer their sashimi. It's always fresh and I appreciate that it is indeed run by a family originally from Japan. It's atmosphere is practically right out of Tokyo...intimate and practical. We've never had a disappointing meal there.
