After estimating a starter replacement, I authorized the service.After that service was approved and my vehicle and part were at their shop, they told me they needed to remove my exhaust to get to my starter, which would require an additional part (gasket - which they were going to charge me almost double for the gasket than my cost). I told them I would bring it by, rather than having them get it, no big deal. After that, they insisted on charging me $35 to put it in, even though they had to separate my exhaust to do the original starter replacement. Cut to several months down the road, that gasket is leaking. It turns out, not only did they strip the bolt on it, they bent my pipe (probably from either pulling the old starter or putting the new one in), so it will never be correct again. These guys still charged me as the full rate, but obviously I got the wool pulled over my exhaust.
