- Monte Tavor is a Spanish Immersion Program for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers. Our major emphasis is on language acquisition for the monolingual and bilingual child. The program is based on children's interest, teachers' observations, theoretical implications with emergent themes as well as our developmental approach on sensorial activities and the equilibrium. Children from infants to toddlers and preschoolers grow up bilingual and acquire language easily by participating in activities such as music, songs, dance, dramatic play, free choice, reading, the outdoors, writing, and arts using natural ingredients. Children are exposed to science on animal habitats and science on experiments and discoveries for expanding conceptual thinking, emotional, social, physical and cognitive development. The program was founded in 1994, by a woman from Nicaragua and her family. From the start their belief in a bilingual education for young children was important in creating a program for families in diverse cultural groups and their goal was to have children become fluent in Spanish to prepare them for a much more advanced education.
