Founded in 1992, Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland is a social welfare organization that serves youths between the ages of 6 and 18. Its fitness program includes baseball, basketball, flag football and other sports activities. The organization also offers homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring services through its Power hour program. It provides arts, leadership development, fitness and recreational programs. The organization additionally offers programs related to career and life skill development. It operates Keystone Clubs, which is a leadership development program for youths between the ages of 14 and 17. The organization conducts painting, drawing and photography classes. Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland is a part of is a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is a national network of more than 3,500 neighborhood-based facilities.
