Our family has visited Onsen several times and found that food was so so but the service staff was horrible .They are so focused on removing dishes that they visit the table at least every 3 minutes asking if finished yet.They even empty a can of soda into your half filled glass just to remove the soda can.This practice of wanting to clear the table makes the guest feel rushed. Will not go there again.

Nice, friendly and the food was fantastic. Try their thinly sliced tuna or the soft shell crab. I have to go back for seconds. not a lot of room, however, it was snug and hot but the food made up for it.

Great small and personal place. Jason the sushi chef and owner makes you feel right at home and the presentation is always beautiful. The sushi is always fresh and the service is fantastic. My boyfriend and I go here at least once a week and we have ordered platters for superbowl, etc. The prices cant be beat for the quality you receive. We love it!

I have been to Onsen now a number of times and have NEVER been dissapointed. The staff remembers me by name, and what I have ordered in the past. Jason, the chef, sent out a version of the "Red Lobster" roll for me to try made with salmon outside instead of tuna, because he recalled I had ordered salmon the last 2 times I had been in! Where else do you find service like this? I ordered the chriashi last time I was in, and it was a work of art, both in terms of taste and presentation. I would rank this little storefront shop above Kotobuki or Aji53 any day. The decor is simple and tasteful, they aren't trying to be anything they are not...they are serving amazing, fresh product and delighting in it. You really owe it to yourself to try them. Oh, and right now, they are BYOB, which is sort of lovely, when you think about it. Bring your favourite wine and let them make the rest of the deliciousness for your meal!

Without a doubt, one of the best sushi restaurants that I have been to on Long Island in a long time. My Husband are so happy to know we finally have a great Sushi Restaurant in the neighborhood. The food is fresh, the presentation is beautiful, the dishes and rolls on the menu are very unique and finally, the owners are incredibly nice which makes the whole dining experience even more wonderful. Don't judge the book by the cover, from the outside it does not look like much but once you go in and sample, you'll be hooked, trust me.

My wife and I ate sushi at Onsen and we are hooked 100% The fish they serve is the highest quality money can buy.. and their prices are very inexpenive..The restaurant is so clean you want to take off your shoes.. The Chefs PRESENTATION of every dish they serve is the BEST ANYWHERE IN THE TRI STATE !!!!!!!!!! SIMPILY THE BEST IN LONG ISLAND ... WE CALL IT ...THE ART OF SUSHI.. ITS A MUST TRY ! From the ambiance to the food, everything is perfect. The sushi is fresh and delicious and their sushi chef is extremely creative. I feel like I should be paying WAY more for this dining experience. My new favorite sushi place! NOM NOM!
