My experience with Little Beginnings Day Care has been wonderful from start to present. My daughter started in the "Tots and Twos" placement in early 2012 at around 16 months old. She was immediately loved and welcomed by her teachers, who do the best job of facilitating a diverse and open learning environment filled with music and expression. She will be 4 at the end of this year, and I'm so proud and happy with her development. Open communication is encouraged and any issue is handled quickly and with care. Now in the preschool section with Ms. Janice, she knows her numbers and letters in English and Spanish, enjoys the fun field trips and walks around Oak Park, has nutritious meals, and I feel confident that she is in a safe and nurturing environment every day. The children are loved and encouraged to learn and grow. Ms Phillips and her staff do a wonderful job with my daughter and the other children and I recommend this very open and accommodating center to all in the area.

Love the flexible hours, staff, how clean it is, the teachers, location, creativity! My daughter loves her teachers and doesn't cry when I drop her off at school. I can leave with a peace of mind knowing she is in good hands. I also Love that her school keeps a daily log of what she eats, how much, the time, when she naps, etc.. They even taught her how to walk and captured her first baby steps with a picture they provided for me! They are all really nice and very flexible and affordable. I would recommend them to anyone.
Our preschooler and toddler attended Little Beginnings Daycare full-time for four months. The toddler class was fantastic, but the preschool class was bad enough that we pulled them both out, forfeiting days we had already paid for.
Their main problem is with the head teacher of their Preschool classroom, Miss Andrea. After observing several outings as a chaperon, I noticed that the teacher was constantly harsh and constrictive with the kids, even at times when they were obeying her. Her treatment of the kids was so severe that my son began acting out at home, and complaining that he “did not want his teachers to be mean to him anymore.” (This behavior took a few months to resolve, and he still shares with us his gratitude that his new teachers (at another preschool) are not mean to him like his old ones were).
We approached the director about our concerns, and she was very attentive, including suspension of the teachers while reviewing the issues. However, in the end she reinstated the same teaching staff. In her last correspondence she claimed that the situation would be dealt with appropriately, but I would suggest talking with her in person about what changes have been made before putting your child into their Preschool class.
