I am usually a fan of Steak 'n shake, and have been to and dined at more than a few locations across the midwest. The one in O'Fallon has to be the poorest example of a Steak 'n Shake that I have had the displeasure to patronize. Taste your soda before you drive away, because the employees can't tell the difference between the Coke nozzle and the Diet Coke nozzle. Also, refrain from ordering something as simple as a grilled cheese sandwich, because the cook is too lazy to toast the bread on both sides, so you end up with basically a cold piece of cheese wrapped in wet, but somewhat warm, white bread. Avoid this location like the plague unless you are starving or purchasing lunch for someone you don't like.

Everything was excellent! From the order taking to the meal....no complaints. Great service and wonderful, tasty food. I will continue to patronize their establishment. Kudos to the manager and all the workers there.Lovely experience.

I've eaten at this restaurant many times, but yesterday took the cake! The food was absolutely ATROCIOUS! The waitress was great though. Our food was overcooked, burned mushrooms on the burgers and the turkey club sandwich was like nothing I've ever seen before; it was just a slice of meat, no cheese, some lettuce, tomato..it was a mess! The waitress said the cook was new. If this restaurant wants to keep its business, he needs to be trained properly. He had the nerve to ask us how the meal was and we told him...dry, overcooked and smashed. His reply was "that's the way they train us." He's a liar, because I've never experienced anything this bad at any Steak N' Shake that I've ever been too. I should have know something was not right when the parking lot was empty in the middle of the day...these restaurants are always packed because of their reputation for having good food. I should have demanded my money back. But I do know that I will NEVER go back to that one.
