It operates the Get Ready Emergency Disaster Preparedness program, which is a two-hour emergency preparedness program that addresses various public safety risks, including earthquakes, wildfires, floods and landslides. The Novato Police Department s patrol bureau conducts K-9, bicycle, open space, off-road motorcycles, hostage negotiations team and youth reserve programs. Additionally, it offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education(D.A.R.E.)program.
