The Norwalk City School District provides a variety of educational and extracurricular programs for students through its elementary, intermediate, middle and high schools. It serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school district offers classes in various subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, science and social studies, as well as Spanish. The Norwalk City School District also administers art, music, orchestra, drama, band, and physical and special education programs. In addition, its schools administer the English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
