Headquartered in Los Angeles, Smart & Final started as the Hellman-Haas Grocery Company more than 130 years ago. Founded in 1871, the company later took the names of owners J.S. Smart and H.D. Final. The warehouse stores carry a variety of culinary offerings, including appliances, cooking equipment and restaurant supplies. It offers perishable and nonperishable food items, frozen and refrigerated foods, paper goods and janitorial products. Smart & Final provides online recipes for various food items, including grilled beef and scallop kabobs, bacon-wrapped tenderloins, ice cream pies, cappuccino cheesecakes and apple pies. It offers the SmartAdvantage card, which provides discounts on products, store promotion notices and rewards to its members. Smart & Final maintains a store location in Norwalk, Calif. The company operates more than 250 warehouse stores for food and food service supplies in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and northern Mexico.
