Giving one star (would give 0 stars if available) because this is the police dept of Officer Leighton Pursell who shot and killed a pet cat and threw in a dunpster. The owners are now nourning the loss of their pet, Sugar who had escaped outside in Decenber and only traveled a few houses down the street. Officer Pursell displayed a severe lack of judgenent but still serves on the police force.

Northampton Borough Police would like to introduce the newest member of our department. His name is Vito and he is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois. His handler Officer Mike Buchanan went through eight weeks of training prior to Vito going on Patrol the first of June. His is trained in patrol and narcotics.
