- RhinoplastyChin implants are often recommended to patients to achieve better facial balance. A chin implant can often help with patients undergoing nose reshaping surgery (Rhinoplasty) or for those who have a “recessive chin”.
- Plastic SurgeryDr. Truswell is a board certified facial plastic surgeon. He has been practicing facial plastic surgery for over 30 years in the same location and has performed over 30,000 surgical procedures on the face, head and neck. - Face LiftThe facelift rejuvenates the lower 1/3 of the face, under the chin area and tones the neck. This procedure redrapes the skin and muscles of the face in order to restore a more youthful and natural look.
- BlepharoplastyBlepharoplasty corrects sagging eyelids, pouches beneath the eyes and excess folds around the eyes. This surgical procedure involves the removal of excess skin and fat on the upper lids and fat on the lower eyelids and is often done in conjunction with other surgical procedures including facelift, eyebrow and forehead lift. Laser resurfacing of the lower lids and crows’ feet is done at the same time if fine lines and wrinkles are an issue, and to tighten up the lower lid skin after a lower lid bleph.
- Nose SurgeryRhinoplasty is a procedure in which deformities of the nose are corrected by removing, rearranging, or reshaping bone and cartilage. Dr. Truswell has done over 3,500 rhinoplasties. This surgery can be performed in conjunction with procedures designed to relieve nasal obstruction. A proven history of such obstruction and failure of medical treatment must be established before insurance will pay for any part of the nose surgery.
- OtoplastySome people are born with ears that just seem to stick out too far. Also called Lop Ear Deformity, it can be corrected with a procedure called Otoplasty, or bilateral Otoplasty which is reshaping the ear and placing it closer to the scalp. Otoplasty is considered a cosmetic procedure and not covered by any insurance policies anymore, even for children. Dr. Truswell now only does this procedure for adults in his accredited operating suite.
- Scar RevisionScars are the unfortunate reminders of accidents, assaults, or even surgery. Once the skin has been cut or damaged, scarring is inevitable. Scar revision surgery is performed to minimize the appearance of the unsightly souvenir. Laser resurfacing to further refine the result often follows this procedure.
- Laser ResurfacingLaser resurfacing leaves the skin smoother yet natural and not polished in appearance. Healing time is shorter and in the right hands complications are less. The laser is a computerized medical device that delivers a precise amount of energy to the tissue, removing it to an exact depth. Dr. Truswell owns and uses the Coherent Ultra Pulse Encore Fractional laser. This is the industry gold standard by which all other devices are judged. Patients experience little discomfort with this procedure, and are able to return to work in about 5-7 days.
- Cosmetic SurgeryWe at the Aesthetic Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center understand that many patients are interested in facial rejuvenation without the kind of downtime that surgery requires. Below are some examples of minimally invasive options that Dr. Truswell offers...
- DermabrasionOne of the greatest developments in facial plastic surgery in the last twenty-five years has been the carbon dioxide laser. This device is used to smooth wrinkled and/or acne scarred skin. Until the advent of this technique, the usual methods used were deep chemical peeling and dermabrasion. The CO2 laser is the best method to make collagen fibers reproduce. The fibers are also shortened, thus tightening the skin. There are many advantages to using this technique. While all resurfacing methods remove a partial layer of skin, the laser is by far the most accurate.
- Facial ImplantsFacial implants have proven a safe, predictable, low-cost, low-risk cosmetic surgical procedure. Materials they are made from have been used in surgical cases for many years.
