Established in 1972, Pequenakonck Elementary School is located in North Salem, N.Y. It serves more than 600 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Its facility offers air-conditioned classroom wings, a gymnasium, media center and multipurpose room. The school offers a variety of programs provided by the art, music, library and physical education specialists. In addition, the school offers after-school activities, field trips, speech and language services, special education sessions, and remedial reading and math classes. Its staff includes various school nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and a diagnostic team of teachers. Pequenakonck Elementary School operates a student council that organizes various special events and fundraising activities. It also operates a parent-teacher organization that conducts monthly meetings.
