As a part of St. Joseph Hospital for Specialty Care, Southern New England Rehabilitation Center is a 29-plus-bed facility that provides a range of medical care services. The center offers inpatient restorative programs for people who have experienced injuries and illnesses. Located in Providence, R.I., it prepares individualized treatment plans, as well as provides case management, nutritional counseling and rehabilitative services. Founded in 1995, the center has a medical staff of board-certified physicians who specialize in the areas of rehabilitation and internal medicine. Southern New England Rehabilitation Center also offers occupational and physical therapies, as well as nursing and pastoral care services. It provides orthopedic programs that enable patients to recover after hip fractures and joint replacement surgeries. The center supports and sponsors several educational events with various community organizations, such as the American Stroke Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society and Arthritis Foundation. Southern New England Rehabilitation Center is affiliated with the Rhode Island Hospital.
