This place is dirty. The office staff are polite as long as you don't have any questions that conflict with information they have given you. I had several pretty bad experiences here. I wrote a professional letter to the vet letting him know how I had experienced the staff and never got a response back from them. Then when I went in and picked up my dogs records they had printed that I was a high maintenance person on the first page of the records. I found it very unprofessional to not communicate with me not even one time to resolve a couple of complaints but then to leave a note in the paperwork that is given to the next office suggesting that there was something wrong with me. I own my own business, for 11 years now and this is not a respectful way to interact with people that are paying you for your services. I am now at a fantastic office whose Vet told me she was quit surprised they didn't respond to my letter, she saw it and felt it was great feedback for any office. Its the difference between caring professionals and people who are just in the business for the money.

Prices are obscene

I took my dogs to this vet for years for convenience sake. Recently, I was quoted $500 to neuter my puppy ($375 for the neuter and $125 for the bloodwork). Naturally, I took him elsewhere for half that price. You hear a lot about people who leave animals at shelters because they cannot afford them, This vet should recognize they are contributing to this problems by charging unrealistic prices for general services.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to serving you. Brief Hospital History Ferguson Animal Hospital was started in Newport Rhode Island in 1931, by Howard F. Ferguson, D.V.M., a graduate of Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Ferguson treated family pets, and farm animals. When World War II broke out it became Dr. Ferguson's duty to watch over for Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut's farm animals. In order to be more centrally located the doctor moved his practice to North Providence in 1942. George H. Ferguson joined his father's practice in 1962 after graduating from Michigan State Veterinary College. George Ferguson, D.V.M. took over the practice after his father's death in 1967, and the hospital has been run under his supervision until his death in August of 2003. Ferguson Animal Hospital is now a companion animal practice. Demand for the care Dr Ferguson's family and the Ferguson Animal Hospital Team are dedicated to continuing the 76 year long tradition of caring for your family pets. We Welcome New Patients!
