With more than a century of experience, Electric Boat Corporation provides design, construction and lifecycle support of submarines for the United States Navy. The company s engineering capabilities include nuclear marine propulsion, hydrodynamics, acoustics and shock and structure. Specialized facilities and equipment consist of machine; pipe; electrical, electronic and heating ventilation and air conditioning shops; heavy-lift cranes and transports; and three graving docks. Primary operations are the shipyard in Groton, Conn., and the automated hull-fabrication and outfitting facility in Quonset Point, R.I., with a workforce of nearly 11,300 employees. Electric Boat Corporation also has a branch located in North Kingstown, R.I., where it employs nearly 2,000 people.
