I moved to the Richmond area in 2009. After replacing the gas logs, I signed on with the previous company and was very frustrated with their service. I switched to Dixie Gas (the company my chimney guy recommended) and have been very pleased with their service and support.

Dixie's business model is set up to rip you off for every dime. Avoid the rip off and aggravation, find another gas company.

I work for a Fortune 500 company and have high expectations when it comes to customer service. My partner and I moved to a home that uses propane as it's central heat source. This company was who the previous homeowner used. From the get go every single interaction with this company has been a can't do attitude. With the exception of one of their supervisors, Bill, I have been shown below par when it comes to communication, follow up, and common respect and understanding. When we cancelled I was given attitude again with an actual statement from one of their agents. I stated that we've cancelled our account with them and the agent's response was "it's a good thing". I agree a very good thing as we have chosen another company that has a can do attitude.

I am appalled as to how this company is running, I have tried several times to get propane and has been told over and over again that per policy I would have to wait until they are in the area. Wow! What happened to good customer service? I would not recommend this company to anyone. The gas is prepaid and I have to wait, until they deem it okay to deliver...on top of that the receptionist is rude...the rating system made me put in one star as I did not want to give it any stars..

I used DIxie for the six years I owned my home. I rented a tank for my gas fireplace. In order to get the tank refilled I had to go in person and pay up front as they wouldn't take a credit card. Customer's read the tank meter and tell Dixie how much is remaining. They estimate how much it will actually cost. The second time I went in to pre-pay they said I had a balance. I asked if they could apply it toward my current payment. They said no. This happened each year and I filled it up twice a year. I sold my house in November and told DIxie I had a full tank and that the new owners were taking over the rental. I closed Nov.12th and have asked every week since then where my refund is. Today is December 18th, 2013 no refund yet.

Don't expect much as far as help from these guys! Horrible customer service.....

I use Dixie Gas regularly to refill my propane tanks. I have always found them friendly and efficient.

watch out for these people. I turned in my tank with about 65 gals left. they found a reason not to gvie me a refund. MAKE SURE YOU USE ALL GAS BEFORE YOU TURN IN!!
