      General Info

      Since its beginning in 1884, the purpose of Historical Society of Montgomery County is the preservation of the history of Montgomery County. The Society is designated as the official historical society of the county of Montgomery. At its DeKalb St., Norristown headquarters, the Society's library, museum and assembly room are located. In addition the Society owns and actively manages Montgomery Cemetery in West Norriton township. The headquarters is open to all, making its historical research services available to everyone.
