Sugar Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center is located in Normal, Illinois the all American city with rich in vibrant history in agriculture, politics and education. Known as the pearl city of Illinois. Sugar Creek offers specialized care for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. At Sugar Creek we understand how challenging caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s and other related dementias can be, and we are here to help. Sugar Creek is a JEA Senior Living community, experts in providing care and support to those living with or affected by the disease. We are committed to recognizing and understand the unique and ever changing needs of persons with memory loss. Our program, Meaningful Moments provides much needed feelings of safety and comfort to our residents by incorporating past routines and preferences established prior to the disease into their lives each day. Our staff receives initial and ongoing training to be the experts in addressing the diverse needs of our residents. We tailor a specialized nutrition program around the preferences and clinical needs of the resident. Offering multiple eating opportunities throughout the day to ensure our residents receive the caloric count they need to promote health. We do this by offering three nutritious meals and three substantial snacks per day. We are partners with you in providing care to your loved one and have programs specifically tailored to your needs as well. Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center provides both Alzheimer's care and respite services to residents in our beautiful community just one mile from Bromenn Healthcare and close by St Joseph's Medical Center. Our Nursing Director is on-site and meets regularly with residents family members and physicians and specialists in order to create and follow an individualized plan for each community member.Memory Care: Residents of Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center receive the care of specially trained staff and nursing members in our Meaningful Moments program. Through this program, our care team learns the individual life stories of all of our Alzheimer's residents and uses it to bring deeper meaning to their days.Respite Care: Our nursing staff is here and ready to assist with any extra help needed after a hospital stay and while recovering from an injury. Dressing, bathing and pain and medication management are all provided to our respite residents.Both our dementia and respite care residents have a choice between a private room or semi-private suite for a more affordable and social experience. All rooms come fully-furnished with large windows and views of our courtyard or front walkways.
