Established in 1985, The Diabetes Institutes Foundation offers financial assistance and support to various research institutes developing medicines against diabetes. Located in Norfolk, Va., the institute also refers patients to the Wallach Clinical Care Institute, provides general endocrine and diabetes care, as well as diagnosis and treatment services for neuropathy, endocrine tumors, and thyroid and metabolic bone diseases. The Diabetes Institutes Foundation offers laboratory services for nerve testing and blood flow studies. The institute features various patient care programs that provide support and information on diabetes and related disorders to patients, training sessions for medical students and assist in developing educational tools for clinical use.
