I have been going to Captain Groovy's for years and enjoy the food and service. Happy hour is great. I was disappointed the last time I was there and ordered the Crab Mac and Cheese. You could not taste nor see any crab. The previous visit I had it and it was loaded with Crab. I mean Mac and Cheese is wonderful but the crab makes it even better.

My daughter & I stopped in here for our B-day dinner after spending the weekend on the beach, on a whim! The place when you first walked in was just like any other restaurant bar and grill same type of ambiance. We happen to like that type, cool, relaxed & friendly. We were promptly greeted & seated, ya parking was a pain, but that's what told us the food must be GREAT! And it was!!!! We spent $140.. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Left our waitress a $30 tip, she was that good! We had East Beach Oysters,Rte 60 Oysters, Psycho Mushrooms,Seafood Platter, Bouillabaisse(to die for!)Pescatore, and finished off with Dabomb! We sat there for over an hour enjoying absolutely the best meal we have had in A VERY long time. It's right up there with the best of them. If you don't like this type of cooking or type of atmosphere.. go to Micky D's! as for the owners, they're very nice, considerate as well as, VERY busy helping serve & seat customers to a VERY pack house. YA GOTTA STOP & EAT HERE!!!!

OK for Ocean View. Conch Chowder too sicy and lacking conch, Poke Tuna too sweet, seared scallops great, risotto w/scallop dish was undercooked and too sweet, psychedelic mushroom lacked crab flavor, and need oscillating fans on bulkheads in entry seating area. Overall OK! I might wait till winter to go back as the menu seems to be winter time in nature. Recommend lighter fare in the summer.

Captain Groovy's is the gRoooooViest!! I have been eating at Groovy's since they opened. The Steamers are to die for!! Happy hour is best in town! One thing I love about this place is that the faces are always familiar and friendly. And to the person who left a negative comment about the owner...get a life! I've never owned a restaurant, but I am sure there is a tremendous about of stress that comes along with it. Anyway, love this joint! Will always be a frequent visitor , and you should be too!!

You can't beat the deals this restaurant offers........happy hour 7 days a week. Their brunch is outstanding. I love the bloody mary bar and shrimp and grits. This is the only place I've found that serves shrimp and grits. Parking is limited but worth the effort.

My FAVORITE restaurant in the entire area. Even if you don't care for seafood they have plenty of other offers for the pallet. Have been there many times and have found the service is tops and the atmosphere very friendly and welcoming. Great place for special occasions or just to go out to eat!! Love Captain Groovy's.

My wife and I could do without the owner(sandy?), very RUDE to customers and her staff. Not a pleasant person to be around when dining after a hard day at work.The food is good not great, a bit overpriced for the lack of atmosphere due to location. During dinner 1 of the locals was spotted relieving himself next to the outdoor seating area. Not real appetizing or appealing when you are paying top dollar for sub par location. The staff was nice, very accomodating to our party of 5 last week. The staff was actually great, trying and doing their best which at times seemed to be very trying when Sandy was around. Maybe the rest/bar business is too much for her to handle. Get rid of Sandy and keep serving your cust's like in the past and C Groovy's would be a regular watering hole and dining destination for my family and co-workers.

Love this place! laid back, you can dress up or wear your flip flops, it doesn't matter :-) Try the clam app, it's awesome - ask for extra bread because you won't be able to stop eating it :-)

Casual dinning inside, or outside in an partially enclosed area. Prices are about average for this area and ranged from about $9.00 (Sandwich and house salad) to about $17 (speciality and 2 sides). For desert I had the bread pudding with a special sauce - I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
