General Info

First Christian Church is an independent Christian church without denominational walls. We are affiliated with other likeminded churches from across the world who are part of the Restoration Movement begun in the early 1800's. The movement was fueled by a desire to unite Christians based on the principles and practices found in the New Testament. We participate in statewide and national conventions and partner in missions and higher education with other churches with the same heritage. First Christian Church began as a collection of evangelistic minded people in Norfolk in 1891. The 118 years since then have seen God's leading and many changes, including changing locations, expanding full time staff, and many new ministry opportunities. Through all the changes, our mission still remains the same, "to turn all people into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ."
