- Dental ExaminationIn order to diagnose periodontal disease, a comprehensive examination must be performed. This is done by placing a periodontal probe within the space between the sulcus (pocket or space) and the surface of each tooth. The depth of a healthy sulcus measures three millimeters or less and does not bleed. The periodontal probe helps indicate if pockets are deeper than three millimeters. As periodontal disease progresses, the pockets usually get deeper. Your Comfort Dental Lounge dentist will use pocket depths, amount of bleeding, inflammation, tooth mobility, etc., to make a diagnosis.
- X-raysYour dentist will thoroughly examine the affected area in order to assess the general condition of the teeth and gums. The dentist will also recommend panoramic x-rays in order to assess the precise depth and width of the existing bone. On occasion, a CAT scan may be recommended to determine the bone condition. Depending on these results, the dentist may also anesthetize the area and explore into the gum in order to determine what kind and how much bone is required.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
- Teeth CleaningProphylaxis (healthy teeth cleaning): You’ll love the way your smile feels after a thorough teeth cleaning from our trained professionals. Regular cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup.
- Dental SealantsSealants: A sealant is a thin, plastic coating applied to the chewing surfaces of molars to create a barrier against food and bacteria that caused decay.
- FillingsAlthough studies indicate that there are no measurable health risks to patients who have silver fillings, we do know that mercury is a toxic material when we are exposed at high, unsafe levels. For instance, we have been warned to limit the consumption of certain types of fish that carry high levels of mercury in them. However, with respect to amalgam fillings, the ADA maintains that when the mercury combines with the other components of the filling, it becomes an inactive substance that is safe.
- Resin CompositeToday’s modern restorative dentistry techniques allow you to get your teeth repaired without unsightly or toxic metal amalgam fillings. Tooth-colored fillings use strong, durable tooth-colored composite resins which look like your natural teeth and provide you with an attractive smile.
- VeneersVeneers are thin custom made shells that cover the front surface of your tooth to improve their appearance. Each veneer is handcrafted for a fully realistic appearance. At Comfort Dental Lounge, we use state-of-the art equipment and the most advanced veneer technology to provide you with a white, even smile.
- CrownsA crown can dramatically improve a tooth’s appearance, shape and alignment. Comfort Dental Lounge provides custom porcelain crowns for a truly natural looking solution. Crowns solve issues related to teeth that are crooked, worn down, cracked, deeply chipped, irregularly shaped, or too widely spaced. The crown is able to provide a protective shell around the damaged or decayed tooth to strengthen it, as well as to improve the appearance of the tooth. A porcelain crown will look and feel just like your other teeth. The material is designed to stay in your mouth long term and does not interact biochemically with your body as metal crowns might
- BridgesYou and your dentist will discuss the best type of bridge for your case. The “traditional bridge” is the most popular type and is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. A typical dental bridge consists of a pontic (a filler tooth) that is attached to two surrounding abutments (dental crowns). Once complete, this dental bridge structure is bonded into the mouth. Dental bridges are very durable and can last a lifetime with extra care and good oral hygiene.

- DenturesMissing teeth cause a host of problems, from difficulty speaking and eating to low self-confidence to jawbone deterioration. A denture is a removable dental appliance replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. Dentures are custom created to resemble natural teeth and are positioned to take the place of natural teeth.

- Tooth ExtractionsAfter tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. After the tooth is extracted you may feel some pain and experience some swelling. An ice pack applied to the area will keep swelling to a minimum. Take pain medications as prescribed. The swelling usually subsides after 48 hours.
- Bone GraftingWhen considering dental implants or bridge work, it is likely your dentist will discuss bone grafting. Bone grafting can repair implant sites with inadequate bone structure due to previous extractions, gum disease or injuries.
- OrthodonticsIn children, it is sometimes necessary to begin orthodontic treatment before the jaw and gums fully form; for this reason, we recommend that you bring your child in for an orthodontic consultation by age seven. This way, we can proactively treat potential problems from habits such as thumb sucking and mouth breathing, or genetic issues like crowding, underbite, or overbite. Our interceptive approach enables us to nip teeth alignment issues before they escalate, gently expanding and reshaping a young person's smile. When all the permanent teeth emerge during adolescence, some children may need a second treatment phase, which can include comprehensive orthodontics and an appliance, like a retainer, to maintain teeth position.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsDuring your first appointment, the alignment of your teeth and bite will be carefully evaluated to determine how to best move forward with treatment. Then an impression is taken of your teeth to examine any problem areas. The dentist then maps out your Invisalign® treatment, including how many aligners will be needed, how long each one must be worn, and the length of overall treatment. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. The total amount of aligners required varies with each individual case, but 20-29 sets per arch is typical.
- BracesMore adults than ever wear braces these days – one in five orthodontic patients is an adult* – but not exclusively for cosmetic reasons. The savvy consumer knows that you're never too old to enjoy the health benefits of a straight smile. For instance, symptoms like earaches, dizziness, headaches, and neck pain can all be associated with a misaligned jaw. Correcting the bite will alleviate these symptoms and improve function and comfort, while reducing the potential for tooth wear. In addition, straight teeth are less prone to decay and gum disease.
