Founded in 1880, Newton Country Day School is an independent, college-preparatory school for girls. The school is located in Newton, Mass., and serves students in grades five through 12. The school is a member of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools. It offers advanced placement courses in art, biology, chemistry, comparative government, English, environmental science, European history, physics and statistics. The school also provides classes in several foreign languages, including Latin, French and Spanish. Its fine and performing arts department offers Chorale, Dance, Photography and ensemble. The school offers a wide range of athletic activities, including basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, sailing, soccer, softball, squash, tennis and volleyball.
