The Newport School District serves students in kindergarten through grade 12 through elementary, middle and high schools that include Newport High School, Sadie Halstead Middle School and Stratton Elementary School. Its academic curriculum for high school students includes art, history, science, information technology, agriscience, fire science, and health and physical education. In addition, the school district operates cafeterias that serve lunch and breakfast to students. The school district has a staff of specialists, including Title I, resource room, physical education, music, library, and speech and language teachers. It operates an athletics department that offers a variety of sports activities, such as basketball, volleyball, wrestling and cheerleading. The Newport School District is located in Newport, Wash.
