For more than 60 years, Newport News Redevelopment & Housing Authority (NNRHA) has been working to create affordable housing, neighborhoods for the citizens of Newport News. The authority operates 10 Asset Management properties with 13 communities in Newport News. It also administers a Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program, acquires property for redevelopment, awards loans/grants, as well as manages Newport News' Consolidated Housing and Community Development programs. Newport News Redevelopment & Housing Authority (NNRHA) is responsible for two HUD government housing assistance programs.
