Located in Newport News, Va., Hines Middle School is an educational institution that offers instructional classes in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes math, science, art, social studies, foreign languages, reading, writing, social studies, English, computer applications, and health and physical education. The school is comprised various academic teachers, special education and guidance counselors, reading specialists and physical education instructors. It also administers various organizations and athletic activities, including the chess club, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, field trips and cheerleading. The school also operates a parent-teacher association that provides support and assistance to the school by organizing various fundraising events and activities.
