Denbigh High School, established in 1949, offers education to more than 1,900 students in grades nine through 12. It has a campus area of more than 32 acres, and is affiliated with Newport News City Public School District. The school s curriculum offers a variety of subjects, including English, mathematics, art, politics, media, literature, sociology, world and American history, economics, and physical and computer education. It offers various extracurricular activities to students, including student council, National Honor Society, dramatics, yearbook, school band, chess and Spanish clubs. The sports activities offered by the school include football, volleyball, skiing, basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, baseball, golf and cheerleading. Denbigh High School is located in Newport News, Va.
