Newburgh Enlarged City School District is a center providing educational qualification for the entire community. Based in Newburgh, N.Y., it operates through several departments that include payroll, health benefits, tax office, technology, transportation, library, athletics as well as fine and performing arts. The school district serves students from four neighboring municipalities, which includes the City of Newburgh, the Town of Newburgh, New Windsor and a small portion of Cornwall. Some of the schools it operates include Heritage Middle School, South Middle School, Newburgh Free Academy, New Windsor and Horizons on the Hudson.
