John H. Castle Elementary School, founded in 1965 and located in Newburgh, Ind., has been designated a 4-Star school by the Indiana State Department of Education. The school has more than 900 students in grades kindergarten through six. It offers various programs, including English, arts, science, social studies, mathematics and physical education. John H. Castle Elementary School also offers computer education, speech, English as a second language, band and various programs for students suffering for disabilities. The school also offers library, gymnasium, computer laboratory and playground. Its cafeteria serves a variety of nutritious food items for lunch. John H. Castle Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that focuses on increasing awareness and participation in curriculum and policy development, by enhancing communication between home and school.
