If you love your dog then DO NOT use this place!! My poor 13-year-old golden retriever came home with a large bloody gash in her tail. They didn't even have the courtesy to call us and tell us about it. I am mortified.

I took my Terrier there for a groom and they did a horrible job. I will never go back and if you love your dog, don't send them there!!! They don't treat there customers and dogs with respect. Bad business...

Wow just came from picking my Scottish Terrier from up from Shaggy Dog and he looks so amazing. They really did a fantastic job and will easily refer people there. The groomers were friendly and were done at the time they said they would be. In my case they were done 30 minutes ahead of schedule. I am so happy that Wiggums came out the way i wanted. I cant wait for my wife to get home and see how nice Wiggums came out... Thank You Shaggy Dog.. I will be back in the future!

I have been going to The Shaggy Dog for the past two years and let me tell you, The Shaggy Dog did a wonderful job on my shihtzu Danielle. Even though Danielle was not the friendliest dog, the first time i brought her in, she immediately fell in love with the groomers. I told the groomers the exact way i wanted her to look, and the end result was exactly what i wanted my dog to look like. They even put some nice bows on her head. What also made me decide tha this be my place of choice for Danielle, is that after they groomed her, they took her out for a walk... and I did not request this to be done. They do this out of the kindness of their hearts. I truly believe that they were born to groom and have a store on the upper east side. I couldn't be happier with the service that they have provided to Danielle. I will def be returning to The Shaggy Dog to get my dog groomed and will be referring others to the store as well.

Agree with the first reviewer-I brought my dog in and did not discover until I got home that his neck was sliced down the middle by Danny Valentin the groomer.



When I questioned Bobby, the owner, he lied to my face and refused to pay the $168 vet bill. These people are just a money hungrey meat factory, they don't even pay attention to what they are doing. For $80, you can do A LOT better.

Wonderful people who care about animals, not just money.I have recommended Shaggy Dog to many of my friends, all of whom have been extremely happy there.
