Provided by YP.comI go to The Hair & Color Bar on a regular basis because no place has given me such great color and cuts! I'm always pleased with the outcome and always have people complementing my color, asking where I get it done. I've referred many people to the shop, all of whom have always been pleased and continue to return.
I've been to places where I've spent a lot of money on my hair color & cut and those places haven't delivered nearly the same quality as what I've received at TH&CB. A reminder that sometimes "more isn't always better".

Provided by YPmobileawful!!! They ruined my hair completely and couldn't even fix it. Other stylists don't want to touch it after all the damage they caused. They won't return the money either...

Provided by YP.comAfter receiving a horrible service, I went back to get my money back or to ask them to fix my hair. I scheduled my appointment with a lady who was very nice, and came the next day. (I had to take time of my Medical School, to give this place another chance. I thought maybe they were tied, or something)
The guy who did my hair initially was there and was very RUDE, he told me that for redoing my hair I have to pay more than I initially paid, which does not make sense at all. I asked for a refund and he said : Bye Honey!
Seriously?
And this was not the end, he saw that I am not a White American, and he made RACIAL/ETHNICAL very rude comment towards me!
I read previous reviews, and I saw that when he did a bad job with highlight to a White girl, he offered her to redo the hair, but not to me.
This is clear RACIAL/ETHNICAL DISCRIMINATION.
First thing I did, I call my husband who is a lawyer in Midtown, told him a story, and the good thing there were at least 5 people heard his RACIAL comments.
"Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination by privately owned places of public accommodation on the basis of race, color, religion or national origin." This Place clearly violated this right.
I have 180 days to file a proper complaint, I do not think my ETHNIC BACKGROUND is a reason to treat me like that.
I came to this place just because it was close to my home. Also, after this incident I saw that this place offers many discounts: Groupon, Yelp... it means place is not doing well. I would not come to this place if I would know they offer so many discounts. Part of my fault as well.
Bottom line: RACIST dude who cannot do his job and who is very rude.
