The Community Development Trust, also known as CDT combines the capital of institutional investors to acquire and provide financing assistance for affordable housing options. Established in 1998, it offers the Debt Program, which includes supply of long-term capital to the community development industry for affordable housing loans on new and existing multifamily rental properties. The Community Development Trust collaborates with various housing agencies and nonprofit and for-profit organizations to acquire properties and invest in recapitalized properties. It utilizes equity investments and uses a variety of resources for the preservation of affordable housing units through its equity program. The Community Development Trust is located in New York City.
